Hi, I'm Robin
Hi, my name is Robin. I have been working in the motor industry for over 37 years. My dad always worked on cars and from an early age had a keen interest in everything motorised. At 11 I started helping my dad, then leaving school I did my apprenticeship at my dads garage, he had built up. I have worked as a technician at many independents, main dealers including Volkswagen, Renault, Nissan, Mitsubishi, and Vauxhall. I have worked at specialist and prestige car sales workshops and at a Mercedes and also a VW, Audi Specialist workshop. I've had some time spent as a pit mechanic for a team in the British GT Championship and they also ran some cars in Group N and Le mans. I have also had a number of years on a production line at Land Rover building Discovery, Freelander, Defender and Range Rovers. With time spent as a fitter, supervisor and manager at a Fast fit centre.

My Journey & Philosophy
I have learnt a varied range of skills in the retail, trade, dealer and independent trade. Fair to say I have had my share of exciting, unusual, wild and normal cars. I have found that in dealerships it is very heavily invested in targets and upsell, same with fast fit centres. Independents are a fairer workshop to the customer, its difficult to find one that has it all. SO this is why Peng Remaps evolved, my attitude to targets and lack of customer understanding, the lack of initiative at independents made me want to give that fair transparent service that I stand by. I am excited to work on all aspects of repairs, upgrades, rebuilds and pure nutty custom work. Why should you choose me? Thats a fair question, I can only offer a simple answer. If it isnt right, its wrong and if doesnt need it, I wont change it.

The real boss!
About me, I like all aspects of cars, from the unusual and exciting to unique. I have my best friend and wife who supports me through it all, and you may meet her as she plays a role in assisting me in the workshop and collecting vehicles and, as much as I'd like too I just can't do it all. The dogs are often with us too, and we like to spend time in the motorhome around the country touring with them seeing the sights and taking a hard earnt nreak. Erins pretty excited by cars and has a fun R53 mini. It may be known to you as we attend a fair share of car shows, meets, vintage runs and cars & coffee events in our cars.

Lola & Lily :)
The dogs, crazy and energetic but a big key to our house. Often at the workshop and never far from us both. I like to bring them to work, I find people like to see them it also makes people at ease when they call in, its not fun having to take the car in for repair and I understand as well as everyone, its an expenditure under duress. We all have better things to use our money on. I always try to be mindful of this, advising carefully on the best course of action to keep your car safe and roadworthy and also prevent failure of items later on with a good service plan. I also understand sometimes, we do want to spend money to improve our car. I have you covered! Well if you have got this far and read all about me, then you're a lucky soul and for that is a reward.
